WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM OUR ADULT AIKIDO CLASSES

Aikido is a Japanese Martial Art developed by Morihei Ueshiba, and It can also be translated as "the path of harmonizing energy."

Physically, it involves the full use of effective joint locks, strikes, throws, standing grappling techniques, nerve strikes, and manipulations. This also requires heavy use of Japanese sword, knife, and stick techniques. Aikido is a way of achieving non-injurious dispute resolution and fostering harmonious contact between society members.

FUNCTIONAL SELF-DEFENSE THROUGH AIKIDO

Our programs prepare students to neutralize threats. You'll learn to defend against striking and/or kicking arts, wrestlers, grapplers, and untrained violent assaults. This is possible because our senior students and instructors have experience in multiple martial arts besides Aikido. Our instructors will bring all of this experience and knowledge to the mat for your benefit in training, fitness and life.

The Midwest Center for Movement Aikido Program is affiliated with the Mid-America Aikido Federation. Students receive internationally recognized rank, and may visit any MAAF school worldwide free of charge.
