About our School
The Midwest Center for Movement was founded by Chief Instructor Michael Ellefson in Hudson, WI in 2003. We are proud to serve the Hudson area, and are honored to be able to contribute to multiple charitable organizations and causes within our community. We are proud to be a We Defy certified academy and to represent Mission 22 in the difficult and admirable work these organizations do.
In 2007 we started the St. Croix Valley Grappling Games- the premiere Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling tournament in the Upper Midwest. We are honored to put on such an amazing tournament twice a year, in the Spring and in the Fall, with a large portion of our proceeds going to local community organizations and charities.
Every year we and our incredible members band together to make families in need have a special Holiday Season through Operation HELP St. Croix. Furnishing everything the family needs to have a great Christmas.
We offer a diverse range of martial arts classes, training, fitness and wellness options., and are proud to be the only WI dojo to be members of the Batto Do federation. We offer classes 6 days a week, with many students studying multiple disciplines and extra mat space for training opportunities even when it isn't class time. 24 hour training access is available.
As a school, our diverse knowledge base is strengthened by our ongoing commitment to learning, from the newest student to the head instructor. Visitors are always welcome- it doesn't matter your martial arts background (or lack thereof), or your affiliation- there is always something to learn on the mats!
