Yoga at MCFM

Our Yoga classes focus on three areas:

Mind/Body Coordination
Concentrates on linking breath, body, and movement in a traditional sense. Emphasis on balancing the body, mind, and spirit in a steady and comfortable manner. Postures will enhance core strength, flexibility, muscle tone and body awareness. 

Flow
Emphasis on developing muscular tone and strength using your own body weight.

Power
Offers an athletic, flowing, and challenging practice that emphasizes, core strength, flexibility and concentration. The poses work together to bring health to the body, mind, and spirit.

Anyone can start the yoga classes at anytime and they are ongoing.  You can work at your own pace and not be restricted by the class being held as a session.  If you have to miss a class, you won't be punished for it in the next class!

Yoga at MCFM is part of our Group Fitness membership.  Along with the yoga classes, you can also take BodySculpting and Bagboxing classes! This variety of classes will give you the greatest opportunity to reach your fitness goals.

Yoga Instructors

Renee Lindquist began her involvement in healthcare in 1983 and has had a passion for personal wellbeing ever since. In her early professional years, She was educated in nursing and practiced at hospitals and healthcare facilities. As her career evolved, she began to develop health education curriculum for High Schools. During this time she became competitive in Nordic Ski marathons. In 2000, Renee and her family moved to Stillwater. It was at this point that Renee earned her certification in Group Fitness Instruction and began leading classes in health clubs. At the same time she began to compete in area triathlons. In 2003, Renee attended a yoga class. During that class she discovered Yoga to be her life’s passion.

 Since that time, Renee has been certified in several levels of Yoga instruction. Because of her background in traditional medicine and health, alignment and safety are key issues in her practice. Teaching in the St. Croix Valley, she has worked with students ranging in age from 4 to 83. She is a talented and skilled instructor attending to the wide variety of students and their capabilities.  Renee’s classes are fun, challenging, informative and engaging. Student’s remark, that after years of practicing with Renee, they still feel excited about yoga and are always learning something new.
